Fiona Laryn
Osteopath D.O. MSc. Ost.
Director LAH Queenstown & Wanaka

My journey into Osteopathic Medicine began with five years of full-time study at the International College of Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM) in Milan, Italy where I obtained my D.O. Followed by Master of Science in Osteopathy at the University of Surrey in London.

I see a wide range of patients in the clinic, ranging from infants to the elderly with everything from sports injuries and muscular-skeletal problems to more complex cases of ongoing chronic pain involving the nervous system and and internal organ disfunction. I work closely with various medical specialists to ensure patients obtain full recovery and their treatment plan is clear.

When not in the clinic you can find me snowboarding, rock climbing or out on the lake paddle boarding.

Josh Thomas
Osteopath M.Ost. Hons, B.AppSci(HumBio)
Director LAH Wanaka

Growing up, I always knew I wanted to end up in a career that would be different every day and involve interaction with many interesting people. This combined with my early interest in Science and in particular, the function of the human body influenced my decision to become an Osteopath.

During my studies, I completed my Master’s thesis by analysing changes in fall and fall-related fracture rates of New Zealand elderly in the hope of guiding future prevention strategies for such injuries. During my clinical practice I have developed a special interest in treating short and long term neck related issues and headaches in adults.

My family has also been involved in the early childhood industry for the majority of my life and I join them in running WanaExcel, an early educational facility in Wanaka.

Bianca Coutts
Osteopath B.App. Sci.,  M.Ost.

I come from a family of health care practitioners so it was inevitable I would take a similar path. Osteopathy appealed to me because of the holistic, patient-centred approach that I saw.

My training consisted of five years of fulltime study at Unitec in Auckland, coming out of this with a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master of Osteopathy.

In my clinical practice I see a large range of patients coming through the doors including athletes, school children, farmers and elderly.

I have a strong interest in sports and performance with a personal background in soccer, tennis and showjumping. I enjoy helping people get back up and running following injury and working with them to ensure prevention in the future.

I am always working to further my skills through attending courses and collaboration with both osteopaths and other health care professionals and specialists.

Daisuke Hiratsuka
Acupuncturist & Shiatsu Massage Therapist

I am originally from Japan, which is where I obtained my degree in Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Anma Massage Acupressure graduating from Oniki Medical School in 2010. I worked for several years in Tokyo before moving with my family to Queenstown.

I am particularly interested in treating viral, bacterial and fungal infections for people with compromised immunity, menstrual and menopause symptoms, breech babies, sports injuries both acute and chronic and mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety.

When not working in the clinic I like to be with my wife and 2 daughters, cooking for friends or fishing on the lake.

Luke Reumers

Osteopath B.App. Sci.,  M.Ost.

For as long as I can remember, I have had a keen interest in the human body and optimising human health, fitness, and performance. Therefore, osteopathy was a perfect career choice for me.

I have completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (human biology) and Master of Osteopathy. I am particularly interested in fitness, exercise and movement, sleep, supplementation, breathing, stress control, and nutrition. I will apply this knowledge along with the practical skills learned to help restore normal pain-free function to affected areas.

I enjoy participating in a range of hobbies & sports, including mountain biking, snowboarding, surfing, trail running, weight training and CrossFit to maintain both physical and mental health and to practice what I preach.

Helena Kamioka

My interest from childhood in the connection between body and mind led me to the world of Acupuncture. In 2011, I graduated from Toyo Shinkyu College of Oriental Medicine in Tokyo, Japan.

Aside from TCM Acupunture, I am specialised in pulse diagnosis and Teishin needles (non-penetrating acupuncture needles) as well as in 2019 becoming certified in Pelvic Alignment.

Prior to coming to New Zealand my partner and I had our own acupuncture clinic in Tokyo and in Chiba. My personal experience of becoming a mother of three children served a lot in treating pre and post maternity symptoms.

I treat people of all ages (including young children), for several kinds of symptoms such as chronic fatigue, stress based pain, autonomic nervous system balance, menopausal symptoms, sleep deprivation, depression and anxiety.

My treatment style is mild but effective, which is suitable for someone who likes acupuncture treatment but prefers not be needled, or who is afraid of needles.

The beautiful view of Queenstown makes me feel that I am a part of the nature, and gives me energy as well as sensitivity. I like walking and having a picnic with my family alongside the Lake Wakatipu on my days off.

Lauren Wilding
Clinical Naturopath & Nutritionist

My passion for health began over 10 years ago teaching Yoga and Practicing Thai Massage.

Recognising the need for a deep understanding of Internal Medicine to be able to help more, I spent 5 years studying at the Naturopathic College of NZ.

With 2 children of my own, I am passionate about children's health, helping support parents to find optimal health for their children, frequently treating conditions such as eczema, allergies, immune related conditions and much more. I work with all ages and stages - pediatrics to elderly, using dietary and lifestyle changes alongside nutritional and herbal medicine to treat a wide variety of physical and mental conditions throughout all systems of the body. These include digestive issues, skin conditions, fatigue, immune disorders, hormonal challenges, mental health, sleep issues, cardiovascular disease and more.

To fill my own tank I enjoy being at home with my family, in the garden, hiking, mountain biking, climbing and having a laugh with friends.

I am passionate about helping the body return to its natural state of health and am committed to truly listening and walking through the healing journey with each and every one of my patients.
